As a Vista small business owner and employer, I know first-hand the challenges facing the growth of our city. I’ll bring the same focus on good management, eliminating waste and encouraging productivity to our city government that I employ daily in the management of my small business.
I’m honored to serve as an elected member of the Vista Irrigation District Board of Directors. During my time serving on the VID Board, I have fought to hold costs down, invest public assets wisely and have consistently worked to demand transparency and accountability for the citizens of Vista.
I’m honored that members of the Vista Irrigation District Board, who I work closely with, including Directors Marty Miller, Jo MacKenzie and Paul Dorey, have all endorsed my campaign for city council. My tenure on the VID Board of Directors has been marked by a cooperative, respectful and productive working environment; the same one I’ll bring with me if elected to the city council.
My business and career are focused on public service. For more than 11 years, I’ve worked closely with Congressman Darrell Issa. I served as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Congressman on local and federal policy issues in the beginning of my career and I currently work closely with Congressman Issa through my business in our community. I’m also proud to work closely with leaders like Vista Councilwoman Amanda Rigby, Escondido Mayor Sam Abed and other civic leaders in our community providing advice on a range of political issues.
My experience with public policy isn’t the thing that makes me most qualified to serve you on the city council however. It’s my experience as a business owner and employer that make me a truly well qualified candidate. I understand that in order for Vista to prosper and function optimally, we must first operate efficiently, and with the interest of our citizens in mind.
